Talofa! My name is Darline
Theresa Schwenke, and I am of Samoan
descent. I recently graduated from Eastlake
High School
I will be
attending Southwestern College and will
later transfer to San Diego State
University. I plan on majoring in
communications and would like to pursue a
career in media or public relations.
In high school, I was the
Varsity Cheer Captain, and our cheer squad
won the State Championship Cheer
Competition. I was also the Commissioner of
Pep & Activities for the Associated Student
Body and coordinated pep activities, as well
as served as co-master of ceremonies at
school assemblies
Community service is a
responsibility I take seriously, as I feel
it is important to give back and serve the
community in which I live. I have
volunteered for three years as a cheer
trainer for youth cheerleaders.
I have
also participated in environmental clean-up
events and was an active member of the “Best
Buddies” club, which is a partnership to
assist students who are developmentally
challenged.
My Samoan culture is
something that I treasure with pride and
respect. I am fortunate to have traveled on
two occasions to American Samoa, where I
observed and learned first-hand more about
my beautiful culture. It will be an
honor to serve as your next Miss PIFA.
