Kiana Pangelinan is 21 years old and is of Chamorro and Hawaiian descent. She has been a recipient of the PIFA Scholarship Program for the past three years and has been appointed the 2023-2024 Miss Pacific Islander of San Diego.
Kiana is the daughter of Joel and Laura Pangelinan. Kiana is a senior at Cal State University San Marcos, Majoring in Kinesiology and aspires to become a Physical Therapist in Orthopedics. She will be the first college graduate in her family. Kiana has years of community service in church, health promotion, and Pacific Islander communities. Several volunteer roles she has served or currently serves in includes Youth Group Leader at Our Mother of Confidence church; Physical Therapy Volunteer at Sharp Memorial Rehabilitation Center; Volunteer and Rehab Aide at Torrey Pines Orthopedic Medical Group; and Enrichment Program Leader/Camp counselor at the YMCA. Kiana grew up dancing with Heali’i's Polynesian Revue, volunteered and served for years with PIFA at multiple events such as the Taste and the festival, volunteered with the Jonathan Tarr Foundation, and CHELU Organization.
Miss PIFA’s platform is to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity for youth in San Diego County. This initiative seeks to promote healthy habits from an early age, equipping children with the knowledge and enthusiasm needed to make positive lifestyle choices throughout their lives.
